When it runs
The county states: "Tax Sales are scheduled on the first Tuesday of any given month on the courthouse steps at 12 noon." Sales are not held every month; the county posts a list when one is scheduled. The most recently published sale was June 2, 2026 (list dated 06/01/2026), and that sale list states: "This sale will be held at noon in the Historic Courtroom on the 2nd Floor of the Governement Services Complex." [sic]. Notice "is published once a week for the four weeks immediately preceding the sale in the legal organ (newspaper) for the county, which is presently The Tribune & Georgian."
Registration and deposit

Bidder registration is handled online by Government Tax Solutions (GTS) at https://www.gtsweb.com/contact-4. The county sale list instructs: "If you plan on attending, please register in advance." The GTS form is headed "BIDDER TAX SALE REGISTRATION" and states "ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES AT 2PM THE MONDAY PRIOR TO THE TAX SALE." Registration is free, and "Only certified funds such as Cashier's Check, Cash, or Money Order will be accepted" for payment. GTS registration contact: jessica@gtsweb.com, 770-834-5263. Bidding "commences with the total of taxes and costs (levy, recording, advertising, and commissions) on each parcel, with the property being sold to the highest bidder"; the county may enter a bid if no other bidders participate.

Sale format and venue
Camden County runs a traditional Georgia in-person redeemable tax deed sale, not an online auction. There is no online bidding platform: only bidder registration is online, through Government Tax Solutions (GTS), the county's delinquent tax service vendor. Bidding is live, and the county's own pages describe the classic courthouse-steps format at 12 noon on the first Tuesday, while the June 2026 sale list moved the physical location indoors to the Historic Courtroom on the 2nd floor of the Government Services Complex in Woodbine. Confirm the exact room with the Tax Commissioner before attending. Sales are occasional rather than monthly, and the county publishes a parcel list roughly one day before the sale, so watch the Tax Sale page and the Tax Sale Calendar (https://www.camdencountyga.gov/calendar.aspx?CID=26). The June 2, 2026 list carried the note "This is a mobile home only sale!" and contained 21 mobile home accounts with balances from $581.42 to $1,973.93, so a given Camden sale may offer no real property at all. Executions (fi. fa.) issue against delinquent taxpayers on December 31 each year, and the levying officer then levies for sale. The winning bidder "receives a tax deed" but cannot take control of the property or collect rents during the 12-month redemption period. Redemption price is the tax sale price plus later taxes paid by the purchaser plus 20% for the first year or fraction of a year, then "an additional 10% for each subsequent year or fraction of a year until redemption." Twelve months after the sale the purchaser may bar or foreclose the right of redemption by serving proper notice on the taxpayer, occupant, and all recorded lienholders, so "a minimum time of one year and forty-five days elapses between acquisition of a tax deed and the right to physical control of the property." The county also warns that a Georgia Supreme Court decision held "actual possession of the property is necessary for a tax deed to convey fee simple title to the property absent the process of barring or foreclosing the right of redemption." In person (live outcry, no online auction platform)

Camden County tax sale list and auction calendar

For Camden County tax sale 2026 searches, use the county-run sources below rather than a copied parcel list, and confirm the parcel, registration cutoff, deposit, and payment deadline against the county before you bid. If the parcels on this list are vacant land rather than houses, what buying land at a tax sale hands you is the place to start.

  1. Get the advertised list

Use Tax Sale page (current sale list PDF and Tax Sale Conditions) for the current advertised parcels, then recheck it before the auction.
  2. Register to bid

Ask the county office how and when to register; many counties close registration days or weeks before the sale.
  3. Sale day

The sale is live and in person; there is no online bidding platform. Confirm the venue and hour with the county office before you go.
  4. Confirm with the office

If the list, platform, and notice disagree, use Camden County Tax Commissioner's Office (Property Tax Division), Woodbine, GA as the source to confirm which parcels are actually offered.

Before you bid in Camden County

  1. Start with the live sale list

Pull the current advertised parcels from Tax Sale page (current sale list PDF and Tax Sale Conditions). Lists can change before the sale, so recheck the county source before you price a parcel.
  2. Confirm registration and deposit

  3. Check the state rules that change the bid

Read the Georgia due-diligence checklist before bidding. Redemption, liens that survive a tax deed, title cleanup, and payment deadlines can change what a parcel is worth. Which liens survive is state law, so read what survives a tax deed in Georgia before you price the title work.
  4. Set a walk-away number

Work out what the parcel is actually worth with the rural land value estimator, then turn it into a ceiling with the tax deed max-bid calculator.

Georgia rules

Redemption
The right to redeem runs for 12 months from the date of the sale and does not end there. It continues after the year until the tax deed purchaser forecloses it by serving and publishing the statutory barment notice, which cannot be started until 12 months have passed. The purchaser delivers the notice to the sheriff at least 45 days before the redemption deadline named in it, and publishes it once a week for four consecutive weeks in the six months immediately before that deadline. Redemption puts title back in the defendant in fi. fa. subject to the liens that existed at the sale, and the purchaser must execute and record a quitclaim deed. Title under a tax deed recorded on or after July 1, 1996 ripens by prescription four years after recording. Judicial in rem foreclosures under Article 5 run on a different clock: the owner has 60 days after the sale to redeem by paying the minimum bid price into the superior court.
Deed deposit
Georgia sets no statewide percentage deposit. A purchaser at a judicial sale may tender cash or a cashier's or certified check drawn for the purchase price and issued or certified by a federally insured financial institution. Counties publish their own payment terms, and many require payment in full at the close of the sale, so confirm the terms with the tax commissioner before bidding.
Surplus proceeds
Excess funds left after taxes, costs, and the expenses of the sale belong to the former owner and to recorded lienholders in order of priority. The officer who sold the property must mail notice of the excess funds by first-class mail within 30 days to the record owner at the time of the sale, to the holder of each security deed, and to every other party with a recorded equity interest or claim, and may file an interpleader action in superior court. Funds still unclaimed five years after the sale are paid over to the Georgia Department of Revenue, after which only a court order from an interpleader action releases them.
Governing statute
O.C.G.A. Title 48, Chapter 4

A tax deed does not convey marketable title. Most buyers file a quiet title action before they can resell or insure the property. See the due diligence guide.
