When it runs
Schleicher County publishes no tax sale calendar and no sale notices online. Its Trustee Sales page carries only substitute-trustee mortgage notices dated March 3, 2020 and December 2, 2019, and its Public Notices page carries only estray notices, redistricting orders and COVID-19 executive orders. Under Texas Tax Code 34.01 a sheriff or constable sale runs on the first Tuesday of the month at the county courthouse, so any Schleicher County sale follows that statewide schedule. Call the Tax Assessor-Collector at (325) 853-3066 to confirm whether a sale is set.
Registration and deposit

No county bidder registration page exists. Texas Tax Code 34.015 allows the officer conducting the sale to require a written statement from the county tax assessor-collector showing the bidder owes no delinquent property taxes in the county. Request that statement from the Schleicher County Tax Assessor-Collector at the courthouse, 2 S. Divide, Eldorado, phone (325) 853-3066, and confirm deposit and payment terms with that office before bidding.

Sale format and venue
Schleicher County is a small West Texas county of roughly 2,800 residents centered on Eldorado, and it does not maintain a delinquent tax sale page, a struck-off or resale property list, or an online auction platform. Every official county page was checked: the Tax Assessor-Collector page, the Trustee Sales page, Public Notices, the Sheriff's Office page and the full site map, plus the Schleicher County Appraisal District site and the county's online tax payment portal at tax.co.schleicher.tx.us, which is a payment portal only. None mention tax sales, redeemable tax deeds, struck-off property or bidder registration. No online auction platform is published for this county, and no platform URL should be assumed. Sales, when they occur, would be held in person at the Schleicher County Courthouse under Texas Tax Code 34.01. Schleicher County does not appear in the statewide sale listings of the two largest Texas delinquent tax law firms that publish county sale calendars, so no third-party sale list is available either. Investors should contact the Tax Assessor-Collector directly and watch the courthouse posting board and the local newspaper of record for a Notice of Sale.

Schleicher County tax sale list and auction calendar

For Schleicher County tax sale 2026 searches, use the county-run sources below rather than a copied parcel list, and confirm the parcel, registration cutoff, deposit, and payment deadline against the county before you bid. If the parcels on this list are vacant land rather than houses, what buying land at a tax sale hands you is the place to start.

  1. Get the advertised list

A county sale-list URL is still being verified. Use the office and platform details on this page before relying on a copied list.
  2. Register to bid

No county bidder registration page exists. Full requirements are in the sale card above.
  3. Sale day

Schleicher County publishes no tax sale calendar and no sale notices online. The auction platform is still being verified. Confirm the next sale date and registration window with the county before you bid.
  4. Confirm with the office

If the list, platform, and notice disagree, use Schleicher County Sheriff's Office as the source to confirm which parcels are actually offered.

Before you bid in Schleicher County

  1. Start with the live sale list

The county sale-list URL is still being verified. Use the county office contacts below and confirm the advertised parcels directly before you price a bid.
  2. Confirm registration and deposit

  3. Check the state rules that change the bid

Read the Texas due-diligence checklist before bidding. Redemption, liens that survive a tax deed, title cleanup, and payment deadlines can change what a parcel is worth. Which liens survive is state law, so read what survives a tax deed in Texas before you price the title work.
  4. Set a walk-away number

Work out what the parcel is actually worth with the rural land value estimator, then turn it into a ceiling with the tax deed max-bid calculator.

Over-the-counter (leftover) purchases

Texas has no over-the-counter certificate list. Parcels that draw no sufficient bid are struck off to the taxing unit that requested the order of sale, and that unit may resell them at any time by public or private sale. A public resale requested through the sheriff or constable may be sold for any amount. A private sale generally may not go below the lesser of the market value stated in the judgment or the total judgments against the property, unless every taxing unit entitled to proceeds consents. Ask the county or its delinquent-tax law firm for the current struck-off inventory.

County notes

  • Vanessa Covarrubiaz is the Schleicher County Tax Assessor-Collector and Voter Registrar. Leticia Porras is the Deputy Tax Assessor-Collector. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5PM, closed 12 to 1PM. The office lists one number for both phone and fax: 325-853-3066.
  • The Texas Comptroller county directory independently lists the same tax office: Vanessa Covarrubiaz, 2 S. Divide St., Eldorado, Texas 76936, phone 325-853-3066, mailing address P.O. Box 658, Eldorado, Texas 76936-0658, website www.schleichercounty.gov.
  • The Schleicher County Sheriff's Office is led by Sheriff Jason Chatham at 4 S. Divide Street, Eldorado, TX 76936, phone (325) 853-2737. The Sheriff's page says nothing about tax sales or public property auctions.
  • The county's Trustee Sales page (labeled Foreclosure in the URL) is for private substitute-trustee mortgage foreclosures, not tax sales, and its newest document is dated March 3, 2020.
  • The county's old domain co.schleicher.tx.us now issues a 301 redirect to www.schleichercounty.gov, which is hosted on ezTask Titanium through the Texas Association of Counties.
  • Schleicher County Appraisal District (1 W. Warner Ave, Eldorado, TX 76936, phone 325-853-2617, chief appraiser Anna Buitron) handles appraisal and protests only. It publishes no tax sale or struck-off property information and points tax payment to tax.co.schleicher.tx.us.
  • Negative checks: querying the Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson Texas tax sale service returned zero properties and zero county records for Schleicher, and the McCreary, Veselka, Bragg & Allen monthly Texas sale list did not include Schleicher County. Neither firm publishes a Schleicher County sale.
  • Web search quota was exhausted during this research, so discovery relied on direct fetches of official county, appraisal district and Texas Comptroller URLs plus a limited engine query. The absence of a county sale page was confirmed against the county's own full site map, which lists every page on the site.

Texas rules

Redemption
The redemption clock runs from the date the purchaser's deed is filed for record, not from the sale date. Property that was the owner's residence homestead or was land designated for agricultural use when the suit or the warrant application was filed, and any mineral interest, may be redeemed on or before the second anniversary of that filing. Every other property may be redeemed only through the 180th day after the deed is filed. When a parcel is struck off to a taxing unit instead, the period runs from the date the taxing unit's deed is filed for record. The former owner has no right to use, possess, or collect rent from the property while the redemption right runs, and the right of redemption cannot be sold or transferred: any instrument purporting to transfer it is void.
Deed deposit
The Tax Code sets no statewide deposit and no buyer premium. Section 34.01 directs the officer to conduct the sale the way similar property is sold under execution, so payment terms are set locally by the officer who runs the sale. Most Texas counties collect the full bid in cash or by cashier's check on the day of the sale. Confirm the terms with the county before you bid.
Homestead deeds
Texas sets no separate opening bid for a homestead. What changes on a homestead parcel is the exit: a residence homestead, land designated for agricultural use when the suit or warrant application was filed, and a mineral interest all carry a two-year redemption right instead of 180 days, and the premium the owner pays can reach 50 percent in the second year. Price a homestead parcel for that longer clock.
Surplus proceeds
The officer pays any excess proceeds to the clerk of the court that issued the order of sale. The clerk holds the excess for two years after the sale and notifies the former owner when the amount exceeds $25. A claim must be filed before the second anniversary of the sale. The court pays established claims in statutory priority: a purchaser at a sale later adjudged void, taxing units for post-judgment or omitted taxes, other lienholders, taxing units for unsatisfied judgment amounts, and then the former owner. Anything unclaimed is distributed to the taxing units.
Governing statute
Tex. Tax Code Chapter 34

A tax deed does not convey marketable title. Most buyers file a quiet title action before they can resell or insure the property. See the due diligence guide.
