When it runs
Not published by Dallam County. No county page states a sale date, so only the statewide statutory default applies: Texas Tax Code § 34.01 sets tax foreclosure sales for the first Tuesday of the month between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the location designated by the commissioners court. This timing was NOT quoted from any Dallam County page and should be confirmed with the Tax Assessor-Collector before relying on it.
Registration and deposit

Not published by Dallam County. Under Texas Tax Code § 34.015, a bidder at a Texas tax foreclosure sale must first obtain a written statement from the county tax assessor-collector certifying the bidder owes no delinquent property taxes in the county, and must present it to the officer conducting the sale. Request that statement from the Dallam County Tax Assessor-Collector at 806-244-2801. This is the statewide requirement, not a Dallam-verified procedure.

Sale format and venue
No Dallam County redeemable tax deed sale page was found. The county website (www.co.dallam.tx.us, also served at www.dallam.org) is a small static site whose Tax Assessor-Collector and Sheriff department pages contain navigation only, with no sale notices, sale calendar, bidder instructions, or struck-off property list. The Dallam County Appraisal District site carries tax rates and truth-in-taxation material but no delinquent tax sale, foreclosure, or auction content. No online auction platform was verified for this county: Dallam does not appear in the LGBS tax sales county list (28 counties, checked July 2026) and does not appear in the current MVBA Tax Sales auction feed. Because Texas online tax sales require specific commissioners court authorization under Texas Tax Code § 34.01, and no such authorization or platform was found, buyers should assume the sale is conducted in person at the Dallam County Courthouse in Dalhart until the county confirms otherwise. Investors should call the Tax Assessor-Collector at 806-244-2801 to identify the county's delinquent tax law firm, obtain the § 34.015 bidder statement, and confirm the sale date, location, and any struck-off resale inventory under § 34.05.

Dallam County tax sale list and auction calendar

For Dallam County tax sale 2026 searches, use the county-run sources below rather than a copied parcel list, and confirm the parcel, registration cutoff, deposit, and payment deadline against the county before you bid. If the parcels on this list are vacant land rather than houses, what buying land at a tax sale hands you is the place to start.

  1. Get the advertised list

Dallam County publishes no tax sale list online. The Dallam County Sheriff's Office (the county lists "County Sheriff" as a department; Texas Tax Code § 34.01 assigns the sale to the sheriff or a constable). Delinquent tax collection for Dallam County is handled by the Dallam County Tax Assessor-Collector. advertises the parcels ahead of the sale rather than posting them, so the list reaches bidders through the county legal newspaper and the office itself. Call 806-244-2801 to ask for the current advertisement.

  4. Confirm with the office

If the list, platform, and notice disagree, use Dallam County Sheriff's Office (the county lists "County Sheriff" as a department; Texas Tax Code § 34.01 assigns the sale to the sheriff or a constable). Before you bid in Dallam County

  1. Start with the live sale list

There is no online list to price against. Dallam County advertises the parcels before the sale rather than posting them, so get the advertisement from the office on 806-244-2801 and price from the parcel numbers it carries.
  2. Confirm registration and deposit

  3. Check the state rules that change the bid

Read the Texas due-diligence checklist before bidding. Redemption, liens that survive a tax deed, title cleanup, and payment deadlines can change what a parcel is worth. Which liens survive is state law, so read what survives a tax deed in Texas before you price the title work.
  4. Set a walk-away number

Work out what the parcel is actually worth with the rural land value estimator, then turn it into a ceiling with the tax deed max-bid calculator.

Over-the-counter (leftover) purchases

Texas has no over-the-counter certificate list. Parcels that draw no sufficient bid are struck off to the taxing unit that requested the order of sale, and that unit may resell them at any time by public or private sale. A public resale requested through the sheriff or constable may be sold for any amount. A private sale generally may not go below the lesser of the market value stated in the judgment or the total judgments against the property, unless every taxing unit entitled to proceeds consents. Ask the county or its delinquent-tax law firm for the current struck-off inventory.

County notes

  • County seat is Dalhart. Dallam County is a small Texas Panhandle county (population about 7,100), which is consistent with a low-volume, in-person sheriff sale rather than an online auction platform.
  • The Texas Comptroller county directory (last updated 03/17/2023 for the assessor-collector record) lists Jami Parr as Dallam County Tax Assessor-Collector, phone 806-244-2801, fax 806-244-7801, email taxac@dallam.org, collecting unit Dallam County.
  • The Dallam County Tax Assessor-Collector collects only for Dallam County itself. Other taxing units in the county (Dalhart ISD, Texline ISD, Stratford ISD, City of Dalhart, City of Texline, Dallam-Hartley Counties Hospital District, North Plains Underground Water Conservation District, Frank Phillips College) are listed as active taxing units by the appraisal district and may pursue their own delinquent collections.
  • Dallam County Appraisal District: 401 Denver Ave., Dalhart, TX 79022 (mailing P.O. Box 579), 806-249-6767, chief appraiser Holly McCauley. Useful for parcel research before bidding, but it publishes no sale list.
  • Verification gap: the delinquent tax law firm serving Dallam County could not be identified from any official page. Dallam is absent from both LGBS and MVBA county listings, and the Perdue Brandon site (pbfcm.com) is currently serving spam-injected content and no working tax sale listing page, so it was not usable as a source.
  • Research constraint: the web search budget was exhausted before this county was researched, so findings come from direct fetches of official URLs only. A follow-up pass with search available may surface a sale notice page or law-firm listing that direct URL probing missed.

Texas rules

Redemption
The redemption clock runs from the date the purchaser's deed is filed for record, not from the sale date. Property that was the owner's residence homestead or was land designated for agricultural use when the suit or the warrant application was filed, and any mineral interest, may be redeemed on or before the second anniversary of that filing. Every other property may be redeemed only through the 180th day after the deed is filed. When a parcel is struck off to a taxing unit instead, the period runs from the date the taxing unit's deed is filed for record. The former owner has no right to use, possess, or collect rent from the property while the redemption right runs, and the right of redemption cannot be sold or transferred: any instrument purporting to transfer it is void.
Deed deposit
The Tax Code sets no statewide deposit and no buyer premium. Section 34.01 directs the officer to conduct the sale the way similar property is sold under execution, so payment terms are set locally by the officer who runs the sale. Most Texas counties collect the full bid in cash or by cashier's check on the day of the sale. Confirm the terms with the county before you bid.
Homestead deeds
Texas sets no separate opening bid for a homestead. What changes on a homestead parcel is the exit: a residence homestead, land designated for agricultural use when the suit or warrant application was filed, and a mineral interest all carry a two-year redemption right instead of 180 days, and the premium the owner pays can reach 50 percent in the second year. Price a homestead parcel for that longer clock.
Surplus proceeds
The officer pays any excess proceeds to the clerk of the court that issued the order of sale. The clerk holds the excess for two years after the sale and notifies the former owner when the amount exceeds $25. A claim must be filed before the second anniversary of the sale. The court pays established claims in statutory priority: a purchaser at a sale later adjudged void, taxing units for post-judgment or omitted taxes, other lienholders, taxing units for unsatisfied judgment amounts, and then the former owner. Anything unclaimed is distributed to the taxing units.
Governing statute
Tex. Tax Code Chapter 34

A tax deed does not convey marketable title. Most buyers file a quiet title action before they can resell or insure the property. See the due diligence guide.
