First Tuesday of the month, quarterly, starting 10:00 AM CT. The platform FAQ states: "The sales are conducted between 10:00 a.m. CT and 4:00 p.m. CT. All sales will cease at 4:00 p.m. CT on the day of the sales and any sales not completed may be reposted for a future date." The auction calendar records past Angelina tax sales on March 7, 2023; June 6, 2023; September 5, 2023; December 5, 2023; March 5, 2024; June 4, 2024; and September 3, 2024, each labeled "Tax Sale" at 10:00 AM CT, showing a March/June/September/December cadence. No sale was listed on the calendar for July through October 2026 when checked on July 25, 2026, so confirm the next date with the county before planning a trip.
Registration and deposit

Bidding is entirely online. Register on the auction site at least five business days before the sale; one account per bidder. Fund the escrow account by ACH or wire transfer and allocate a deposit of 5% of your anticipated maximum bid to Angelina County before the auction starts (ACH takes about five days to settle). The balance of a winning bid is due by 3:00 PM CT the same day, by wire transfer to the Angelina County office, using the post-auction wire instructions rather than the deposit instructions. The auction preview page cites Texas Property Tax Code sections 34.011 and 34.015, so plan on the section 34.015 written statement of no delinquent taxes from the Tax Assessor-Collector. Sale format and venue
Angelina County sells redeemable tax deeds online, not in person. Commissioners Court adopted a "Resolution To Allow Online Auctions For Tax Foreclosure Sales, Tax Resales And to Adopt Rules Governing Online Auctions" on August 23, 2022, recorded as instrument 22-4546, under Texas Property Tax Code sections 34.01(a-1) and 34.05(d). The process page states: "The tax foreclosure sale and tax resale are conducted by the Angelina County Sheriff's Office, facilitated by Realauction.com, LLC." Struck-off resales run on the same platform. Winners receive an ordinary sheriff's deed without warranty, express or implied; title is not guaranteed and title insurance may be hard to obtain. Allow 3 to 5 weeks for the deed. Purchases stay subject to the statutory right of redemption under section 34.21 and to any post-judgment taxes. The county retains Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP as its delinquent tax law firm, and the Bidder Letter directs tax foreclosure process questions to that firm. Do not confuse the Angelina County site's "Notice of Foreclosure Sale" and "Notice of Substitute Trustee's Sales" event postings with the tax sale; the August 4, 2026 notices at the Courthouse Annex are deed-of-trust trustee sales under Texas Property Code Chapter 51, not Tax Code Chapter 34 sales.

Angelina County tax sale list and auction calendar

For Angelina County tax sale 2026 searches, use the county-run sources below rather than a copied parcel list, and confirm the parcel, registration cutoff, deposit, and payment deadline against the county before you bid. If the parcels on this list are vacant land rather than houses, what buying land at a tax sale hands you is the place to start.

  1. Get the advertised list

Use Angelina County Auction Calendar (scheduled tax sales and items for sale) for the current advertised parcels, then recheck it before the auction.
  2. Register to bid

Bidding is entirely online. Full requirements are in the sale card above.
  3. Sale day

First Tuesday of the month, quarterly, starting 10:00 AM CT. Bidding runs on RealAuction; check posted sale dates, registration status, and bidding windows there.
  4. Confirm with the office

If the list, platform, and notice disagree, use Angelina County Sheriff's Office as the source to confirm which parcels are actually offered.

Before you bid in Angelina County

  1. Start with the live sale list

Pull the current advertised parcels from Angelina County Auction Calendar (scheduled tax sales and items for sale). Lists can change before the sale, so recheck the county source before you price a parcel.
  2. Confirm registration and deposit

Realauction customer service: (877) 361-7325, customerservice@realauction.com.

  3. Check the state rules that change the bid

Read the Texas due-diligence checklist before bidding. Redemption, liens that survive a tax deed, title cleanup, and payment deadlines can change what a parcel is worth. Which liens survive is state law, so read what survives a tax deed in Texas before you price the title work.
  4. Set a walk-away number

Work out what the parcel is actually worth with the rural land value estimator, then turn it into a ceiling with the tax deed max-bid calculator.

Over-the-counter (leftover) purchases

Texas has no over-the-counter certificate list. Parcels that draw no sufficient bid are struck off to the taxing unit that requested the order of sale, and that unit may resell them at any time by public or private sale. A public resale requested through the sheriff or constable may be sold for any amount. A private sale generally may not go below the lesser of the market value stated in the judgment or the total judgments against the property, unless every taxing unit entitled to proceeds consents. Ask the county or its delinquent-tax law firm for the current struck-off inventory.

County notes

  • Sales are conducted by the Angelina County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff's Office mailing address: P.O. Box 114, Lufkin, Texas 75902; phone 936-634-3331; https://www.angelinacounty.net/sheriff/ (source: angelina_sheriff).
  • The Tax Assessor-Collector is Terri Collier; office hours 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.; email taxoffice@angelinacounty.net (source: angelina_tax).
  • The county publishes a Delinquent Tax Roll download at https://www.angelinacounty.net/files/pdf/tax/Delinquent/trwfile.110125.zip (verified to return a ZIP file). This is the delinquent roll, not the sale list; the sale list lives on the Realauction calendar.
  • County FAQ language: "The only way to obtain property for delinquent property tax is to purchase it in a Sheriff's Tax Sale" and "The tax attorney and sheriff's department can then auction your property at a tax sale" (source: angelina_propfaq).
  • The Bidder Letter is signed "Greg Sanches, Sheriff" with a revision date of January 23, 2023. The Sheriff's Office page now lists Tom Selman as Sheriff, so the letter is out of date on the officeholder.
  • The Bidder Letter prints a Linebarger phone number with an invalid area code, so it is omitted here rather than reported as fact. Verify the firm's number directly before relying on it.
  • Angelina County does not appear on the Linebarger taxsales.lgbs.com county list (28 counties, checked July 25, 2026), so no LGBS-hosted sale list exists for this county.
  • angelina.texas.sheriffsaleauctions.com blocks generic fetchers with HTTP 403; it returns HTTP 200 with a normal browser user agent. All platform facts above were read from successfully retrieved pages.

Texas rules

Redemption
The redemption clock runs from the date the purchaser's deed is filed for record, not from the sale date. Property that was the owner's residence homestead or was land designated for agricultural use when the suit or the warrant application was filed, and any mineral interest, may be redeemed on or before the second anniversary of that filing. Every other property may be redeemed only through the 180th day after the deed is filed. When a parcel is struck off to a taxing unit instead, the period runs from the date the taxing unit's deed is filed for record. The former owner has no right to use, possess, or collect rent from the property while the redemption right runs, and the right of redemption cannot be sold or transferred: any instrument purporting to transfer it is void.
Deed deposit
The Tax Code sets no statewide deposit and no buyer premium. Section 34.01 directs the officer to conduct the sale the way similar property is sold under execution, so payment terms are set locally by the officer who runs the sale. Most Texas counties collect the full bid in cash or by cashier's check on the day of the sale. Confirm the terms with the county before you bid.
Homestead deeds
Texas sets no separate opening bid for a homestead. What changes on a homestead parcel is the exit: a residence homestead, land designated for agricultural use when the suit or warrant application was filed, and a mineral interest all carry a two-year redemption right instead of 180 days, and the premium the owner pays can reach 50 percent in the second year. Price a homestead parcel for that longer clock.
Surplus proceeds
The officer pays any excess proceeds to the clerk of the court that issued the order of sale. The clerk holds the excess for two years after the sale and notifies the former owner when the amount exceeds $25. A claim must be filed before the second anniversary of the sale. The court pays established claims in statutory priority: a purchaser at a sale later adjudged void, taxing units for post-judgment or omitted taxes, other lienholders, taxing units for unsatisfied judgment amounts, and then the former owner. Anything unclaimed is distributed to the taxing units.
Governing statute
Tex. Tax Code Chapter 34

A tax deed does not convey marketable title. Most buyers file a quiet title action before they can resell or insure the property. See the due diligence guide.
